Guest Artist: Leonard Byrne, Tuba
The Spokane String Quartet concludes its “All in the Family” season with guest artist Leonard Byrne, principal tuba player with the Spokane Symphony since 1975. Husband of SSQ cellist Helen Byrne, Leonard has an advanced degree in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho. He spent many years juggling more than 50 hours a week at an engineering job with symphony responsibilities. He retired in 2001 from his “day job” to devote more time to music.
