Steve Earle is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who bridged the genres of rock and country music. He is also a composer and actor known for The Wire (2002), Leaves of Grass (2009), Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), and, more recently, playing Uncle Randy on Dixieland (2017), having a cameo on Nashville (2018), and lending his voice to Squidbillies (2019).
He’s released nearly an album a year since getting sober in the mid 1990s, and in 2022 he released his 22nd album, "Jerry Jeff". On this album, Steve Earle pays tribute to Jerry Jeff Walker who died on October 23, 2020 at the age of 78.
Earle is considered to be one of America’s most gifted living songwriters who also writes books and plays and who hosts his long running The Steve Earle Show: Hardcore Troubadour Radio on Sirius XM.
