Save A Seat
Why should I save a seat?
BECAUSE THE BING NEEDS YOUR LOVE
The Bing Crosby Theater has been a staple of the Spokane community since 1915. To ensure audiences continue to have the best experience at every show, the theater often requires renovations. Currently, the Bing Crosby Theater is seeking $500,000 in donations to modernize its theater seats.
The Bing Crosby Theater’s seating has not been updated since the late 1980s. And it shows.
The seats and seat backs are also wearing out and are not as comfortable as they once were.
New bases will be required to support the new seating.
The first three rows of the orchestra (sections A, B, and C) will be removable to enlarge the stage for special events.
PROTECT THE BING’S LEGACY
Donating to update the theater seating at the Bing Crosby Theater is an investment in the comfort and enjoyment of all its patrons. Modernized seats will provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience, making each visit to the theater more memorable. Upgraded seating also enhances the overall atmosphere and appeal of the venue, ensuring it remains a cherished cultural landmark in the Spokane community. Your contribution will help preserve the theater’s legacy and helps it to host unforgettable performances for years to come.
YOU, TOO, WILL BE HONORED
Donors of $500 or more to the Save Your Seat campaign will become an enduring part of the Bing Crosby Theater through an honorary seat nameplate. All donations are welcome.
ABOUT THE NAMEPLATE
What you receive when you make a gift.
Each seat donation includes a personalized, engraved, brass nameplate on a seat in the section corresponding to your gift level. All donations receive a certificate acknowledging contributions to the Bing Crosby Theater. Click here to download the seating charts.
You may customize the nameplate.
You may inscribe your name, your name and a partner’s name, your name and family members’ names, or you may recognize a relative, friend, or company. Phrases like “In Memory of” or “In Honor of” are also allowed. Nameplate text, subject to character limits and approval by Friends of the Bing, is determined by the donor.
The seat plaque will be made visible.
Your seat nameplate will be on the armrest of a seat in the section matching your gift level, and it will be clearly visible to others. You will be informed of the nameplate’s location after installation.
Seat locations depend upon your gift level.
You may request a specific row within your gift level selection, but specific seats cannot be guaranteed.
Group seating may be arranged.
If you are interested in multiple seats or grouped seating nameplates, Friends of the Bing will ensure they are arranged together. Each seating nameplate will correspond to the gift level associated with it.
Seat hosting is a naming opportunity.
Seat hosting is a naming opportunity only and does not imply ownership or reserved use of the seat for performances.
Installation of new seats will be deferred.
Fundraising is expected to take at least 12 months; therefore, installation will be deferred until $500,000 is in the Save Your Seat account.
The nameplates will remain in place.
The seating nameplate will remain in place until such time the seating will need to be restored. Because of the improved quality of new materials, the seats should last up to 50 years.
All donations are welcome.
All contributions under $500 are more than welcome, and you will receive a customized certificate acknowledging your gift.
